Chris Dean

“Before you are a leader, success is all about growing yourself. When you become a leader, success is all about growing others.” – Jack Welch

The above quote embodies the personal philosophy of NAR Director candidate Chris Dean. As a 33-year member of our industry, Chris has shown time and again, that being a leader is what makes an individual truly successful. As a Broker/Owner of Gateway to Homes @ Keller Williams in Lansing, at all hours of the day and night, she is helping to lead her team of agents to successful outcomes, as evidenced by being named one of the top real estate teams in the country numerous times over the past decade. Ted Edgington agrees by saying “Chris is someone I can count on for sincere leadership for both Realtors and Affiliates, like myself. The time and care she takes in her engagements shows that she truly does care about our organization and takes pride in the value of ‘home’.”

When the Lansing Chapter of the Women’s Council of Realtors was struggling to retain members and trying to keep the chapter alive, they came to Chris and asked her to become President for the second time in 2020 because they knew she could help right the ship. Gail Hartnett, former National President of Women’s Council, the Idaho Association of Realtors and a current NAR Director also sees these qualities in Chris. “I have worked and known Chris going back to 2005 when I was the National President Elect for Women’s Council of Realtors®. I have made it my mission to follow the STARS that I believe are the future of our organization. Chris Dean is one of those STARS. Chris’s passion for our association is evident. Her involvement at all levels of NAR, Michigan REALTORS®, Women’s Council and her community show me a clear path to serve as an NAR Director.”

Chris has served our industry in numerous capacities at the state and national levels, including nearly a decade of service on the Michigan Realtors® Public Policy Committee or RPAC Trustees, and as a member of the NAR Major Investor Council, Public Policy Coordinating Committee, RPAC Participation Council, and NAR Board of Directors, among others. Bill Martin had the opportunity to experience Chris’s passion as she served in some of these positions and says “I have known Chris for close to 20 years and I’m proud to say that she has always been a very involved, dedicated leader in the Association. Her experience is unrivaled as is her commitment to the professionalism of our industry. Chris has at every opportunity, provided tremendous leadership skills and values. She doesn’t just talk about what needs to be done, she gets involved and helps get it done. In looking at what one needs to have in order to be successful as an NAR Director, Chris checks every box.”

She fights for our industry by regularly communicating with our state and federal elected officials on issues like private property rights, fair housing and equitable tax treatment for small business owners and real estate professionals. As a member of Presidents Circle dating back a decade and a 2015 RPAC Hall of Fame inductee, she has demonstrated she truly cares for our industry and all that it does for our country.

Chris is a respected, professional and passionate person that truly serves our industry with distinction. She is well liked, hard-working and knows how to get things done. She would be honored to have your vote to represent our great state as an NAR Director.
