Frequently Asked Questions
Michigan REALTORS® has made the decision to conclude the current Graduate, REALTOR® Institute (GRI) program in its existing format. This change allows us to thoughtfully redesign the program to better meet the evolving needs of today’s real estate professionals and the future of the industry.
The real estate industry has changed significantly in recent years—technology, business models, consumer expectations, and regulatory environments continue to evolve. After careful review and member feedback, Michigan REALTORS® determined that the current GRI structure no longer fully aligns with how REALTORS® learn, work, and build successful businesses. This transition creates an opportunity to deliver a more relevant, flexible, and impactful educational experience.
No. Michigan REALTORS® remains committed to the value and prestige of advanced professional education. While the current program is ending, Michigan REALTORS® is actively working on a revamped educational pathway that will continue to support professional excellence and may include designation or credentialing opportunities in the future.
Members who have enrolled in the GRI-III program will have until March 31st, 2026 to login to https://www.cemiway.com and complete the course to finish their designation. NAR recommends a maximum of 5 years to complete the program. If you have exceeded the five-year limit you will need to reenroll to the program and complete the recommended courses again once the program has been updated.
