Hello Fellow Realtors,

Representing the Great State of Michigan at the National level within the Association of Realtors is both an honor and a privilege. This I know from the experiences I have had the opportunity to enjoy while volunteering in various capacities as an engaged Realtor member at the local, state, and national levels.

At the local level with the Upper Peninsula Realtors I have served as President, Treasurer, a board member, the chairperson of our MLS Committee, as well as being involved in the many various committees of a typical local association. When we needed a voice in Lansing, I was often the one to make the trip. I was recognized as being committed and willing to engage. I was selected as our local Realtor of the Year on more than one occasion.

Many of you know me from my involvement at the state level with the Michigan Realtors. It began with intermittent trips across the state to be the voice for the most distant local association in Michigan. This led to involvement on various committees and work groups. Eventually, I was elected to the Michigan Realtors Board of Directors where I served as a board member for four years before being elected as Treasurer and then as President of the Michigan Realtors. Serving as the state President gives a unique opportunity to network with current and up and coming leaders across the Nation.

I have been fortunate to serve at the National level as well. I served on the NAR Board of Directors over a period of four years, was selected to be in the inaugural class of the Advocacy Academy in Washington DC, and presently am in my third year as the Federal Political Coordinator to Congressman Bergman. I have also enjoyed time on the Multiple Listing Service Issues and Policy Committee and the Land Use, Property Rights and Environment Committee. Also, while serving at the National level, and as an officer and then President of the Michigan Realtors, I’ve been active with the Great Lakes Caucus. This gave the states surrounding the Great Lakes a stronger voice at the National level and a competitive advantage with the largest member states in the country.

A guiding principle I’ve learned and adopted while volunteering and serving at the various levels within the Association of Realtors, local, state, and national, is we need to be Realtors first. It’s what makes us strong. It’s what gives us influence. We all have a different history, a different perspective, belong to various companies, but together we are powerful. I am a 2020 Candidate to serve on the National Association Board of Directors! I intend to use my position, my leadership experience, my growing network of Realtor relationships across the country, and my unique perspective to be a strong voice for the Great State of Michigan on the national stage. Please consider me as your vote for the 2020 Small Board, National Association of Realtors Board of Directors seat. Thank you.
