The Michigan Association of REALTORS® is a professional trade organization for real estate professionals. It serves its members by advancing the interest of REALTORS® and promotes and protects private property rights of Michigan citizens. Members can also take advantage of MAR's money-saving member services. With over 28,500 members, MAR finds many ways to fulfill its mission.
	Advocacy The REALTOR® Political Action Committee (RPAC) is a powerful legislative tool to protect a citizen's property rights. RPAC works at the state and local levels to monitor and shape public policy that affects homebuyers, sellers and REALTORS®. Events Get the latest information, resources and updates on MAR events. Register online as an attendee or view sponsorship opportunities. MAR events include: Achieve Conference, Broker Summit, Convention & Expo, Land Use Academy & Professional Standards Workshops. MAR Events home page ________________________________________________________________________________ Education MAR and its 44 local association and board affiliates host a number of programs that meet continuing education requirements, help a REALTOR® specialize in a field and become Internet savvy. This in turn provides MAR members with the tools and knowledge to better assist clients. REALTORS® can complete their continuing education in a classroom or online at MAR's Web site. MAR has offered online continuing education since 2002. While continuing education keeps REALTORS® up-to-date on year-to-year changes, earning designations can help REALTORS® even more. Designations, from groups like the Graduate, REALTOR® Institute (GRI), Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) and Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) help REALTORS® gain an edge over real estate agents and increase earning potential. Conventions and gatherings are another opportunity for REALTORS® to learn. MAR holds three major events throughout the year: Achieve, Broker Summit and the annual Convention and Expo. 	Communication MAR makes it a priority to communicate with members and provide up-to-the-minute real estate news and information. One of the ways MAR does this is through its printed publications, Michigan REALTOR® magazine and the REALTOR® Advocate. Published bi-monthly on alternating months, these publications cover the current events, news and legislative issues that affect REALTORS® everyday. REALTORS® can also check out the latest real estate news at MAR's Web site. Through the power of the Internet, MAR can update information quickly and respond to REALTORS® comments.
