New Blue Cross program meets MAR member needs

Group Associates is pleased to present a new Blue Cross medical insurance plan that will meet many MAR members’ needs.

This program has many attractive features:

• Rates are far lower than many current plans, as low as $121.40 per month for single subscribers under age 25 (and, for example, $235.79 for ages 45 – 49) if transferring from other Blue Cross coverage. Rates are slightly higher if not transferring.
• No up front deductibles; 70 percent coverage for in-network services; 100 percent coverage for many services, after your 30 percent co payment equals $2,500 (excluding prescription drugs).
• Prescription coverage, up to $2,500 of benefits per year (subject to copays).
• No health questions!
• You can pay your premium through an “automatic payment plan” so you don’t have to remember to write a check each month.

This program will not be right for all MAR members:

• If you use a lot of prescriptions, for example, the $2,500 annual prescription maximum benefit may not be a good fit.
• If you use non-network providers, you could face substantial balance billing issues.
• There are several services not covered, including office visits, consultations, allergy testing, preventive care, chiropractic care and durable medical equipment.
• This program is not available to persons who are 65 or older (or on Medicare).
