Western Wayne Oakland Association Selected in NAR's Game Changer Contest for Local Associations
Local Focus : Western Wayne Oakland County Association of REALTORS®
MAR would like to congratulate the Western Wayne Oakland County Association of REALTORS® (WWOCAR) for being one of the 22 Association's chosen by NAR in the Game Changer Contest. The Contest asked for ideas that demonstrate new and imaginative ways of handling the challenges in REALTOR® association management.
The selection process involved a blind review of the ideas by members of the NAR leadership team and the Game Changer panel of consultants, who used the same assessment criteria for every submission received. The game changing results of these innovative developments will be revealed at NAR's Midyear Meetings in May 2010.
WWOCAR's proposal is included in a group of submissions that that require nominal funding and can be implemented without the aid of a coach, and will receive funding to begin their process of implementation.
Overview from WWOCAR's Game Changer Submission
Knowledge management and the communication of this knowledge to themembers is not only important today, but it is the fastest growing commoditythe REALTOR® association has as a tool to provide value to the members in the future. Education, legislation, advocacy, along with a broad range of other disciplines, all hinge on the ability of the Association to convey its message in a clear, concise manner that will reach the most possible members, with data being accompanied by methods of utilizing the data to achieve the members’ goals.
The member wants to be more knowledgeable, more effective in their marketplace, and want delivery of that information delivered in a custom format that the member is accustomed to using. While much is said about the younger members wanting specialized delivery, we believe that the expectations of quicker, more convenient communications is now cutting through all demographics.
WWOCAR will provide podcasts, vodcasts (video podcasts), live online educational programming, along with appropriate social media, all combined with our current communications matrix to provide more value to our various constituencies.
