Tom Kotzian

Tom Kotzian is an experienced manager with a wide background in real estate. He has been a manager for the past 35 years in Realtor® associations and residential brokerage. Tom's educational background includes an undergraduate degree in education from Central Michigan University and a Juris Doctorate degree in real property law from Michigan State University School of Law. He is also an experienced real estate educator specializing in license law, professional standards, association management and real estate curriculum design.

 

Tom is a certified instructor and administrator in professional standards for the National Association of Realtors. He was selected as the Michigan Association of Realtors Instructor‐of‐the‐Year and was the author of the GRI I and GRI II courses. Tom is currently a GRI I and II instructor for the Michigan Realtors and was the contractual researcher for the State of Michigan's mandatory continuing education course outline from 1989‐92. Tom has personally trained over 90,000 Realtors in Michigan and throughout the United States. He served as a Director of the Michigan Realtors for 8 years and was their Parliamentarian for 25 years.

 

Tom is a past‐president of the Metropolitan Consolidated Association of Realtors, Realtor‐of‐the‐Year and past Chairman of the State of Michigan Board of Real Estate Brokers & Salespersons. He was also the Birmingham‐Bloomfield WCR Member‐of‐the‐Year and the WCR Lake Pointe Chapter 2010 Entrepreneur of the Year. Tom Kotzian was the recipient of the 2012 Fair Housing Leadership Award from the Fair Housing Center of Metropolitan Detroit. Tom is the only NAR certified strategic planning facilitator in Michigan and has personally qualified 17 local Michigan associations for their Core Standards Strategic Plans in 2014‐15. He is currently the 2017 President for the North Oakland County Board of Realtors, as well as a Director for the National Association of Realtors and holds REALTOR. Emeritus status with NAR. Tom is also the managing associate broker for CENTURY 21Town & Country in Rochester, Michigan and a member of the Women’s Council of Realtors. ‐ Rochester Chapter. Tom resides in Shelby Township with his wife Lynda. They have two married children and 4 grandchildren.
