Appraisal Member Search Added to Web Site
The MiCREA portion of MAR’s Web site has added a "find an appraiser" search function. This new search will allow members and consumers to find a MiCREA member by county and city. Another search option is using the interactive map of Michigan to click on the area you want. Appraisers are listed only if they are MiCREA members. Information shown on the site includes first and last name, company name, city and phone number.
Since launching this function last month, MAR has had many requests to add members to this database. If you receive concerns from your members that they should be a part of the appraiser search, please have them contact Andrea Bates at the MAR office at 800.454.7842 ext. 556 or abates@mirealtors.com. This is a change that must be handled by MAR.

RPAC Auction Items
The RPAC Silent Auction event during MAR’s Annual Convention has been a huge success in garnering support for the protection of the real estate industry. This success is due to local association involvement in contributing items for the event. Your help is needed once again! This year’s auction will be held at the MAR Convention and Expo, Thursday, September 27 at the Soaring Eagle Resort and Conference Center, from 7pm-9pm.
In prior years, the RPAC Silent Auction has featured exciting items that have showcased local attractions and flavor. Past items have included golf packages, weekend getaways, sports tickets and memorabilia, golf clubs, and a Mackinac Bridge tour. We appreciate your support and are excited to see some of the creative items you come up with for this year! Participation in this event is greatly needed to help grow RPAC’s strength. Two years ago, over $20,000 was raised! This year, the bar is set high to beat that record!
RPAC was especially critical this year in aiding with the defeat of the 2% tax on services proposal. Many legislative proposals swirl about Lansing and Washington D.C. that have a direct impact on your business. Your involvement in the RPAC Silent Auction event goes to fighting for REALTOR® causes at local, state and federal levels of government and is necessary in combating burdensome regulations on our industry.
Each association and individuals contributing an item to the auction will be recognized with signage at the auction and with a printed “Thank You” in the REALTOR® Advocate. Items and contributors will also be featured on the MAR Convention and Expo Web site and on display throughout the day of the Auction at the RPAC booth on the expo floor.
A great RPAC event at this year’s convention could be the momentum needed to break the record for fundraising. Please feel free to contact your MAR Field Director if you have any questions, would like to brainstorm ideas, or need assistance in getting your item to the convention. Thank you in advance for your consideration and participation!
