New Agency Forms Available: Form "K" and "Y" Now on MAR Web Site As you know, the Agency Responsibility Act was recently signed into law. The passage of the legislation, now Public Act 90 and 91 of 2008, is a huge accomplishment for the MAR, and its success has been years in the making. Effective July 1st, everyone will need to start using the new Agency Disclosure form. The new form contains a check box on limited services. If the box is checked, there will need to be an additional new limited service agreement form provided. New form K is available for purchase through Nash Systems at 517-782-3905. Single Form K and Y is now available to download from the MAR Web site. The new forms K and Y is also available from electronic vendor Zipforms. MAR Creates Talking Points for 2009 Dues Billing Assistance Several locals are mailing 2009 dues statements this month. MAR has created Talking Points to help your staff address questions about the 2009 MAR dues, which increase from $100 to $150. Please distribute this information to your membership and accounting staff. MAR sincerely appreciates all of the work you do to collect the annual dues for our association. $99 Sizzling Summer Savings for 2008 Convention Expo MAR is offering a member exclusive savings this summer for convention registrations. From July 1 to July 31 a one day registration fee will be only $99. Members can attend convention on September 18, for a packed day of CE approved knowledge sessions, nationally recognized speakers, expo browsing and a variety of networking opportunities. MAR is sending local AE’s a mini media kit to promote this savings to members. Included in the kit will be a poster for display, postcards for distribution, as well as a CD with press release, print and web ads. Please visit MAR’s Web site for additional convention information. Nominate Your REALTOR® Active in Politics Help us recognize a member that gives significant time and effort promoting the real estate industry and private property rights. It is time to select the annual recipient of the REALTOR® Active in Politics Award! Each local association can nominate one member. The RAP Selection Committee will determine the winner from each of the local association nominations. Nominees should be members that promote participation in politics within our membership and/or work to advance MAR’s agenda with elected officials. Candidates are judged based on active support and leadership of membership through political involvement at the state and local association levels, personal involvement with influencing public policy, and promotion and contribution to RPAC. NAR involvement is also taken into consideration. Click here to submit a nomination form on the MAR website. The deadline for MAR to receive all local association nominations is July 30. Celebrate National Homeownership Month Each year since 2002, President Bush has designated June as National Homeownership Month, with the goal of increasing minority homeownership in America by 5.5 million by the end of the decade. To celebrate National Homeownership Month 2008, NAR presents a wealth of resources and tools that support homeownership and strong communities. Association Executives and State and Local Association members are encouraged to participate actively in efforts to encourage homeownership and strengthen our neighborhoods, towns, and cities.
