Important Changes to Agency Forms
As you know, the Agency Responsibility Act was recently signed into law. The passage of the legislation, now Public Act 90 and 91 of 2008, is a huge accomplishment for the MAR, and its success has been years in the making.
Effective July 1st, everyone will need to start using the new Agency Disclosure form. The new form contains a check box on limited services. If the box is checked, there will need to be an additional new limited service agreement form provided. Both new forms will be available for purchase within the next week, and we will notify you as soon as they are available.
For additional details on the use of the new form and the changes in the disclosure of agency relationship form, please click here.

Mark Your Calendars for the MAR Director Elections
Make a difference at MAR by participating with MAR’s annual Director Elections. Important deadlines are coming up soon, so be sure to mark your calendars appropriately.
As an essential part of the MAR team, the Board of Directors implement the visionary strategies that make the association tick, while building the foundation for constant improvements. These professional, engaged member volunteers ensure that MAR is the first place people think of for highly credible industry-related services and advocacy.
Individuals wishing to seek candidacy must file with MAR by Friday, July 4, 2008.
MAR Directors are elected just like U.S. Congressional representatives, along district lines. Candidates must run in the district where they live. Questions should be directed to Brian Westrin at 517-334-5558, or email him.
Other important deadlines are as follows:
• August 20. 2008; MAR Director Online voting begins
•
September 18. 2008; MAR Director Online Voting closes

REALTOR® of The Year Nominees
As mentioned at the recent On the MARk Meeting, The REALTOR® of the Year Recognition Task Force would like to do something a little different this year by contacting each of the local ROTY winners to get a quote from them for presentation at the Grand Assembly. In order to do this MAR needs to be able to contact each of the winners by late July, early August as we need to have all audio/video submitted for convention by September 1st.
Just a reminder, ROTY forms along with a high quality photo need to be submitted to Julie Rowell by August 1st. The form can be found online at the convention web site. If for some reason you cannot download the form, please contact Julie at jrowell@mirealtors.com and she will fax a copy to you.
